In the first quarter this year, the trade balance stands at $14.424 billion year-to-date
The Brazilian trade of balance posted a $7.145 billion surplus for the month of March—the best performance for the month since the beginning of the current time series, in 1989. The value breaks the March 2016 $4.431 billion record.
The figures were made public today (Apr. 3) by the Ministry of Development, Foreign Trade, and Services. In the first quarter this year, the trade balance stands at $14.424 billion year-to-date.
A surplus is reported in the balance of trade when exports—Brazil's sales to business partners overseas—sur imports—purchases from abroad.
