Brazil’s fruit exports grow 26% in first quarter of 2025

Brazilian fruit exports rose by 26 percent in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, totaling 301,000 tons from January to March. Revenue also increased, reaching $311 million—up 7 percent from the first quarter of 2024 and 23 percent compared to the same period in 2023, the National Supply Company (Conab) reported on Thursday (Apr. 24).
The leading exporting states were Rio Grande do Norte, Ceará, São Paulo, and Pernambuco, while the main buyers were the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Spain. The top fruits exported included melons, watermelons, lemons, limes, mangoes, and bananas.
“The year started off very promisingly, with strong sales to Europe and Asia. Both revenue and volume exceeded previous years. In addition to the outstanding sales of mini watermelons from Rio Grande do Norte, there was also a solid performance in the export of melons, as well as lemons and limes,” Conab said.
