The Court of Rio de Janeiro has upheld the indiction filed by the Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) of Rio de Janeiro and ordered the arrest of 11 people charged with illegal ticketing for the 2014 World Cup. The suspects include British man Raymond Whelan, a director at Match Hospitality, the FIFA-appointed worldwide provider for the FIFA Hospitality Programme.

Police are working in an operation to arrest Whelan, who is held to be a fugitive by prosecutors. He had been arrested on Monday (7) by the civil police (Brazil's investigative police agency) and released hours later under a court decision. Police believe he has links with Lamine Fofana, from Algeria, who was arrested last week alongside ten Brazilians as part of Operation Jules Rimet. Fofana and the others are in a prison complex in Rio de Janeiro.
