Ebola concern pending final test result

Brazilian health workers have had appropriate training and are qualified to deal with any cases of Ebola
A final test result that will confirm or rule out Brazil's first Ebola threat is expected to be announced by the Ministry of Health on Monday (Oct 13).
The threat emerged in Paraná state in last Thursday (9), when a 47-year-old man from Guinea came to Brazil following a connection in Morocco.
On Sunday (12), a second blood sample was collected from the potentially infected patient, and is now being analyzed at the Evandro Chagas Institute for Infectious Diseases run by the Ministry of Health.
A preliminary test result had been released earlier on Saturday (11), which turned out to be negative for Ebola. According to the National Biosafety Association chairwoman, Leila Macedo, a risk of contamination is always present, but she pointed out that Brazilian health workers have had appropriate training and are qualified to deal with any cases of Ebola, both in hospital care and laboratory tasks.
