Judge convicts ten defendants as part of Operation Car Wash

PT's ex-treasurer João Vaccari Neto, sentenced to 15 years and four months in jail, and Renato Duque, former Petrobras Director for Services, condemned to 20 years and eight months in prison.
Judge Sérgio Moro, in charge of the proceedings under Operation Car Wash, convicted ten people of involvement in a corruption scheme at Petrobras. Among them are PT's ex-treasurer João Vaccari Neto, sentenced to 15 years and four months in jail, and Renato Duque, former Petrobras Director for Services, condemned to 20 years and eight months in prison. Both were found guilty of corruption, money laundering, and criminal conspiracy.
Also found guilty of similar wrongdoing were Augusto Ribeiro de Mendonça Neto (sentenced to 16 years and eight months of imprisonment), Pedro José Barusco Filho and Mario Frederico de Mendonça Goes (both sentenced to 18 years and four months), Júlio Gerin de Almeida Camargo (12 years), and Adir Assad, Sônia Mariza Branco and Dario Teixeira Alves Júnior (nine years and ten months each).
Also, foreign currency dealer Alberto Youssef was sentenced to nine years and two months of incarceration. In the ruling, Judge Sérgio Moro acknowledges that the convict's money laundering did not cease.
Said convictions come as a result of criminal charges filed under the tenth stage of Operation Car Wash, launched in March this year.
