Temer welcomes athletes on Twitter

In his Twitter , interim President Michel Temer welcomed the 10,500 athletes from 206 countries taking part in Rio 2016 Olympic Games. On his tweet, he said we will all be a single nation and a single voice. "We are all together for a new world. Welcome to Rio 2016," he wrote.

"Sports unite nationalities, and Rio 2016 Games brings the opportunity to show Brazil's diversity to the world," he added.

In the evening, the president and the first lady will attend the Rio 2016 opening ceremony at the Maracanã Stadium.
