COVID-19: Brazil has reported 14.4 mil cases, 398 thousand deaths

Recovered patients add up to 90.2 percent of the total

The number of people infected since coronavirus reached Brazil is 14,521,289. In 24 hours, 79,726 positive diagnoses for COVID-19 were confirmed, as per the latest update by the country’s Health Ministry on Wednesday (Apr. 28).

The death toll has reached 398,185. From Tuesday to Wednesday (28), 3,163 new deaths were ed. There are also 3,663 fatalities under investigation by health teams, as the cause of death is in some cases determined after the patient dies.

The amount of people recovered has reached 13,091,714, which represents 90.2 percent of the those who contracted the disease. There are also 1,031,090 patients with an active case, being monitored by health teams.

States

The ranking of Brazilian states with the highest death tolls for COVID-19 is headed by São Paulo (94,656), Rio de Janeiro (43,618), Minas Gerais (32,985), Rio Grande do Sul (24,605), and Paraná (22,013).

Those with the lowest number of fatalities are Roraima (1,494), Acre (1,517), Amapá (1,529), Tocantins (2,509), and Alagoas (4,180).
